About the guide

There is 1 guiding person throughout the ride called Harry. This guide holds:

Level 2 Mountain Bike certificate

Outdoor First Aid Level 6

Child safeguard awareness with British Cycling

DBS checked

He will be the one who does the bike check before the bike guiding in all different locations.

What can the bike guide do?

The leader being a qualified Level 2 bike guide can show all ages trails that suits there needs. This is why the procedure is carried out with a bike check before starting the ride and a simple first day bike ride to see the riders ability.

By signing this form you agree on a few factors during the first day.

1. The bike guide will check over the bikes and alter anything on the bike that may need attention for a safe ride. The bike guide can refuse to take the rider out due to the bike being too badly damaged for the ride.

2. The bike guide will be closely monitoring the teens ability on riding. If the teen decides not to follow the guide or deliberate rides away from the group then the guide will refuse to take the teenage on a ride due to safety measures.

The guide will also not take any verbal or physical abuse towards other riders or the guide.

3. The guide will cover different locations for all abilities but if the rider can not balance on a bike or does not know the basic stuff such as braking we cannot take the teenager out riding due to health and safety reasons.

4. As a bike guide we can show different biking trails that suit the rider. During the ride we may come across some unusual terrain that has a rollable feature. As a group we will stop and show the riders first before biking over the feature. As a bike guide we can guide people what is suitable for there ability and what is not suitable. We can not teach people how to approach features above there skill level and will ask the teenager to go around stuff that is above there standard.

Any unusual terrain for the rider we will stop and look first. If the teenager decides to ride it we cannot stop someone if they feel like they can ride it unless it is a big feature and we say no. By signing this form you agree that as a guide we cannot hold reasonability if a teenager refuses to listen to advice and rides unusual terrain.

Events cancelled or changed

Dates and times of the event may change if weather forecast predicts rain or high winds. If the guided rider decides to change ride due to weather conditions, optional dates and time will be provided to you or a full refund.

Refund

Refunds will only be issued if the guided rider decides to cancels the ride usually due to weather forecast predicting long term heavy rain or high winds. The bike guide will notify you by email or message 2 days before the event and if cancelled will offer a different day for the chosen ride or can send a full refund.

Data protection

The entry form you fill out will be kept with us. This is because it contains crucial information such as emergency contact details and medical information in anything happens during the rides.

Videos and photos

For the safety of all riders and the guide a video body camera will be recording at all times in-case anything occurs and just to get some great videos. The guide will only share if you have ticked the box on the form stating happy for pictures and videos to be shared.

Signing the form officially

On the first day we will go through these things and ask you to sign this form in hand writing. If you refuse to sign we cannot guide the teenager due to not following health and safety measures.

I hope you understand this information.

Kind regards

Harry Davison.
