Talybont On Usk

About ride

This ride is a loop which starts at Talybont-On-Usk village then followed by a slow climb up 1700ft with beautiful views aside Talybont Reservoir.

Once reaching the top looking over the Brecon Beacons it will be a smooth ride downhill to a peaceful lake with great views looking around Brecon Beacons and you can see Pen Y Fan. This will be the lunch stop area with a little cafe serving food and drinks.

It will then be a cycle back on the other side of Talybont Reservoir with a more downhill slant heading towards the road crossing along the reservoir looking over a massive lake.

Is this ride for me?

This contains Bridleways, Byways and roads but mainly off-road. It's a great experience for people who can cycle off-road and looking for a proper mountain ride with uneven terrain with a qualified guide.

What bike is needed?

A bike with at least front suspension and off road tyres. Basically a bike classed as a mountain bike will be perfect for this ride. Also E-Bikes will be great too.

What bike equipment is needed?

Helmet is essential! No helmet no ride. Also recommend taking specific parts for your bike such as mech hanger, inner tubes e.g.

What clothing do I need?

Be prepared this is in Wales and rain can be unexpected. Bring a layer for warmth that is waterproof. Make sure you do have a extra layer in your backpack as it does get colder up the top.

What drink and food should I bring?

Please bring plenty of water for this ride and some snacks. There is a lunch stop half way at a small café with food and drink but please bring some food just as a top up during the ride.

This ride starts 10am and usually finishes 4pm.
